METABOLIC HEALTH
An in depth and nuanced evaluation of your metabolic health and personalized action plan to improve and maximize your metabolic function. 80% of the US population is metabolically unhealthy and optimizing metabolic function is a critical step in the prevention of vascular disease, diabetes, dementia and cancer. For many patients this will be about identifying and preventing early transitions in to poor metabolic health. For others, this may mean reversing known metabolic disease.
early detection of metabolic syndrome
Unfortunately, traditional screening for metabolic health often miss the early signs and transitions in to poor metabolic health. There are many factors that become evident long before a diagnosis and we seek to identify them. Through innovative measures including labs, imaging, and real time biofeedback, we can determine where you stand in your metabolic health.
Personalized plan to optimize your metabolic function
Once we determine where you stand, we’ll create a personalized plan to either maintain or improve metabolic health or reverse metabolic disease. With precision medicine, you will learn how your genes affect you metabolism. In addition, with real time personal data, you develop insights about how environment and stressors affect your insulin, cortisol and glucose responses, and how your body uniquely adjusts. With this information in hand you’ll be guided through the best strategies to optimize you metabolic health.
continued guidance through transitions
As you continue through your journey you will have gained many insights in to how to remain metabolically healthy. We will check in as it is inevitable life brings transitions and new seasons. Together, we’ll make adjustments as needed to assure you are maximizing your metabolic function.

FAQ’s

Put simply, metabolism is how our body processes what we take in to create and store energy and is essential to life. When our metabolism works well, our bodies processes work efficiently but when metabolism does not work well it causes poor function and disease.

Many people focus on weight loss when thinking of metabolism or focusing on their own personal goals. Weight is not a good measure of metabolic health and we tend to focus on body composition (fat to muscle ratio and where fat exists in the body). This is a very nuanced answer and unique to each person. About 38% of people who are labeled as obese are still metabolically healthy and about 22% of people who would be considered non-obese are metabolically unhealthy. Typically people who are over-weight and metabolically unhealthy will experience a change their body composition with targeted approaches for metabolic health optimization.

Absolutely not. For some, Type II Diabetes can even be reversible with a commitment to a personalized plan. For some who have profound insulin resistance, targeted approaches to metabolic health may decrease medication requirements and improve insulin sensitivity. For others, completer reversal of diabetes is possible. Even patients with Type I Diabetes who are metabolically optimized may see a decrease in their insulin requirements.
